Early Life and Education

Mia Love was born in New York City to Haitian immigrant parents, Mary and Jean-Maxine Bourdeau.Fearing persecution by the Tonton Macoutes, they had left two older children behind in their homeland, arriving in the US on tourist visas.

When Love was five, her family relocated to Norwalk, Connecticut, where she attended high school and later the University of Hartford.

Conversion and Move to Utah

In 1998, after converting to Mormonism and working as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, Love moved to Utah.

There, she married Jason Love and settled in Saratoga Springs.
